#827 - 07/06/05 02:01 PM wet carpets lead to mold on padding
Anonymous Unregistered

I got my carpets cleaned 2 weeks ago and they never dried for days. Soon I started to smell mildew and was getting headaches and coughing. I got the carpet cleaners to pull back the areas of my carpet that smelled the most. Some areas were black and wet on the padding. Mold. He just sprayed the padding and both sides of the carpet in the stained areas with a chemdry full strength deoderitizer and satitizer. Said this will stop the smells and mildrew, etc. Concerned here..will this just mask the situation? The carpet is on a concrete floor. Also more of the mold was near windows and baseboard, but never had any leaks. Please advise.. I don't want to just rid of stains and smells but also potential mold issues. What effect might my cat have who was exposed the fumes for 2 full weeks. We are living at family place till the sanitizer/deoderizer dries.. Thanks, from frustrated HomeOwner.
