#810 - 05/07/05 09:53 AM Repair from mold in Georgia
Anonymous Unregistered

I am in need of advice. I have a 10,000 square foot house in Ga. We had an unusual storm last year where I had water coming in my house everywhere. The next morning, I called the insurance co and reported in detail the amount of water I had. At no time did anyone ever tell me to call someone to have the house professionally dried. It took forever for the insurance company to settle on the repairs and once started they discovered that mold had formed on the walls on the entire back of my house. We were already out of the house by then because the ins co agreed to pay for an apartment when the initial repairs were beeing done. This was before the mold was discovered and the repairs were going to take about a month. They have been paying for our housing while the house has been remediated and for the remdiation and repairs but now they want us to move back in if the hygenist says the mold is gone. The entire back of the house(3.5 floors) have no walls and they had to pull up part of my kitchen floor. All my furniture is in my garage or in the front of the house and is covered in plastic plus everything is a mess. There is no furniture in my kitchen and bedroom and all my cabinets are sealed. How can I live here and what can I do? I'm very stressed. Also my son has cp and it doesn't seem healthy for us to be there while they drywall and paint. Plus they were going to pay our expense for the month we were gone before they found the mold. now it's gotten so expensive for them they don't want to pay. Help!!
