Hello,

I could really use some intelligent knowledge regarding mold.

We moved into a new Modular home already on the property in April 2004. Mid October 2004 I smelled a musty odor in my son's room.

I then went under the house and noticed that the insulation was hanging down.

To make a long story short, the home was still covered under warrenty.

I quess the bathtubs (2) and (1) shower were actually draining into the soil. The mold was in my son's room, his bathroom and part of the kitchen.

The company paid for the redemtion and so on.

We moved back home about a month later.

About March 31, 2005 I noticed a nasty, odor coming from inside the island in the kitchen. The odor smelled like dirty wet socks or spoiling food. The airborne specialists came back and did not detect any moisture, but I did show them the mold behind the baseboards and i smell mold musty scent along all of the baseboards throughout the home. The nasty smell has traveled to other cupboards which are not connected with the island. How could that be? Can anyone please tell me what mold has that kind of odor? The manufacturer has not made an attempt to help at all. I had a rash all over very hot like a sunburn and my lungs have been affected.

Thanks Michelle

Mold spores will travel in the air until they find a dark, dank spot in which they can survive.

Good Article by one of our favorite mold pros about mycotoxins and VOC's >>> http://www.startremodeling.com/mycotoxins_voc.htm

You can read just about everything I know about mold here >> http://www.startremodeling.com/toxic_mold_brochure.htm

I will tell you this!

The Remediation of the Mold is NEVER COMPLETE until a Final Air Clearance has been performed and passed!

Ask your builder for a copy!

If they cannot provide one..... I'd Worry a bit
