Hi,

We are trying to remove wallpaper in livingroom and dining room. When we peel it off, it takes the sheet rock paper off with it. DIF does not help and contractor prices are way too high. Any suggestions. We want to avoid putting up new sheetrock.

Thanks

It's likely the sheet rock was painted or primed before the wall paper was put so you should be able to wet the wall paper down with a wet sponge before attempting to peel it off.

Some wall paper is more difficult than others so you might have to work it with the wet sponge to get it soft enough to peel off.

There are also wall paper removal tools you can rent that emit steam to help soften the wall paper.
