The lock on a pair of french doors at our holiday flat will not unlock, the key seems to operate the barrel lockbut the handle & shoot bolts remain locked.Have applied plenty WD40 everywhere I can get it, but to no avail. With the doors shut there is no way to get at the mechanism, any suggestions would be most welcome

If we assume they are keyed the same and they worked ok at one time, then sometimes the only answer is a locksmith. There can be a number of reasons why it won't work and if the wd40 won't help, you have covered some of them.

Try a different key or another hand.

Wish I could be more help.
Good luck!
