#1332 - 05/02/05 01:28 PM Clawfoot tub refinishing
Anonymous Unregistered

I had my clawfoot tub refinished a little over a year ago and then covered it with a blanket until ready to install it. After only a month of use, the refinishing is chipping, bubbling, and peeling. Of course, the company that did it has disappeared.

Can it be resurfaced again or is there a limit to how many times this can be done?

Is there more than one method to refinish it?

What questions do I need to ask before hiring another company to refinish it again?

Thanks for any and all advice.

I understand re-finishing tubs often isn't very successful. My experience tells me it is usually because the preparation of the tub hasn't been done well. This is the most important part of anything we do in the restoration business....preparation.

Be prepared to pay a little more for this. Check the people out with the BBB and ask for references and actually call these people. Don't pick the cheapest price because that's likely what you will get.
