#1303 - 04/20/05 12:05 PM condensation build up in fifth wheel trailer
Anonymous Unregistered

A friend gave me a fifth wheel trailer which has been closed up for approximately five years. Upon inspection it has a build up of condensation which is noticable as soon as the door is opened.
My question is , could there possibly be a mold under the upper panneling? By the way i live in the wettest state in the union Washington state. If so, what do i use to clean this mess and any other suggestions.

Thank you,
Charlie Grigsby

After five yrs being closed up, I'm not surprised that something didn't need cleaning up.

What was it you noticed when opening it up. Just a musty smell or were there signs of mold growth?

If there are little or no visual signs, my guess is you are not in bad shape. To make sure, I would find a small panel or area you can investigate inside of the wall. I would pick a corner close to or at the roof or near the bottom of a window. Check all around the floor at the exterior walls for signs of water. If you find some mold clean it up with soap and water. Once you air out and dry the trailer, keep the moitsure level down when not in use. Mold spores need moisture
to grow.
