squeakyfloor squeakyfloor Returning Do It Yourselfer Registered: 04/06/05 Posts: 2 Loc: detroit, mi 48201	thanks for stoppin in, i have a deep squeak in my kitchen. iv'e tried that cheap plastic thing with the screws...that thing just cracked when the screws tightend. Then i tried the squeek no more thing, i ended up putting a bezillion screws into the floor and still didn't hit the squeak (felt like stevie wonder in a batting cage). is there a way to pull the floor and joyce together? Thats the way it originally was. Any advice? Maximum Respect!!! Squeaky Floor

provip provip Super Do It Yourselfer Registered: 03/03/01 Posts: 1153 Loc: Victoria, BC, Canada	Your best chance of making this an easy job is if the joists are open to view from underneath the floor. Take some shim shingles and a hammer with you and begin to tap some of these shingles between the under floor and the joists in the area of the squeak. Squeaks are often caused by 2 loose boards rubbing together so the shim shingle will stop the 2 boards from rubbing together by tightening things up. I found a product that's a clamp that pulls the subfloor down to the joyce($7 Plus ship). That thing wiped out two squeaks that were about a foot from one another. Finally i feel comfortable putting ol gal on the market.
