I'm having the same problem as coffee guzzler on 1/1/05. I moved into a new house 4 months ago and the light bulbs keep blowing all over the house. I replace each one about once a month. My backyard floodlight has blown 3 times, and I buy good quality, long life bulbs! The same kind of bulbs lasted months in my old house. I have noticed no other electrical problems. What's up?

This is usually attributed to economy bulbs because they have light weight filaments.

Loose connections at the bulb holder or somewhere in the circuit could cause this problem due to arcing.

IF it persists, have an electrician check it out.

But, as I stated, I use good quality bulbs, and the problem happens throughout the house, not just on one fixture or circuit!!

Surges are a possibility but this would likely trip your breakers as well.

One can only guess without running some tests.

I would suggest you have an electrician check it out.
