Clawfoot tub refinishing projects.
You may have seen an antique tub as a display in a store, in a field serving as a watering trough, or your may have even used one in your home. Antique bathtubs were made for soaking. It is this fact that is making them so popular today.
If they were the only bathing unit in the home it is inconvenient to take a shower in them. Since the shower curtain has to go all the way around the tub there are many devices and methods of hanging the curtain. Even after you figured out how to hang the curtain it always seemed to stick to you.
Today many new bathrooms have both soaking tubs and a separate shower stall. Most of these dedicated soaking tubs are new acrylic units. Many antique tubs are deeper than new bathtubs on the market today . This is giving these old tubs a new life.
The problem is all the years that have passed since these bathtubs were new. Most of ones that have been in continuous service have the finish worn off from years of scrubbing. Some of these tubs have the paint worn down to the cast iron. The few Claw Foots that can be found need extensive work and may be missing parts. How can you take a bathtub that is beautiful only by its design, and make it into a show piece? Refinishing.
You can apply a new acrylic finish in the color of your choice. This finish can be put on the inside as well as the outside of any antique bathtub. We also provide chrome and brass dipping service for the feet. If you don't have a antique tub and are looking for one we can also help you there. Just tell us what you are looking for and we will keep an eye out for you.
